What does the Research Clipper actually produce?

Published WordPress posts. Clip sources from your browser — pages, AI chats, Reddit and X threads, YouTube videos, Google Docs, PDFs, images, cropped screenshots — and they are written into blog posts on the site you choose, as drafts or live. Markdown capture is the means; the post is the product.

The one-click path, for when a single page should just become a post. Open the side panel on the page you want, confirm the job name (auto-detected from the page), pick your destination site and publishing status, and press Post it. Out comes one WordPress post, drafted or live, with the same format, tone, SEO and scheduling controls as any other run. No collection to create, nothing to name.

What is Deep Research?

The multi-source path, for articles that need more than one page behind them. You create a named collection once, then keep adding to it as you browse — over an afternoon or over a week. Clipped pages, pasted links, PDFs, images and cropped screenshots all land in the same collection, each with its own caption. When it is ready, the pipeline writes every source in it into one grounded article that cites what you gathered.

How do I create a collection and add clips to it?

In the panel's Collection step, press New Collection, type a name, and press Create. That collection stays selected in the dropdown, and everything you capture from then on goes into it. Clip Page saves the page you are on as Markdown. Capture Area lets you drag a box to keep just one region; Full visible tab grabs the whole viewport. Additional Sources takes a pasted link — Google Doc, YouTube, PDF, image or any URL — or a PDF or image attached from your computer. Every clip and source can carry its own caption. The panel shows a running list of what is in the collection, so you can see the whole thing before you press Post it, and you can come back tomorrow, pick the same collection from the dropdown, and keep adding.

Can my screenshots and images end up inside the post?

Yes — that is what the crop is for. Drag a box on the page to capture just the chart or table you need (or crop inside the panel on pages Chrome blocks, like PDF viewers), and you can also attach images and PDFs straight from your computer under Additional Sources. Give each one a caption such as 'competitor pricing — use near the comparison section', and the writer places it in the post where your caption says it belongs.

How much control do I have over the finished post?

All of it. Destination site, post type and format — How-to, Listicle, FAQ, Comparison / Review, Case Study, News Roundup, Opinion, Beginner's Guide, or a full pillar post — plus tone, target length, audience, custom instructions, slug, page title, meta description, SEO keywords, ACF field groups, and draft versus publish live.

What if I don't want the AI to rewrite my clip?

Switch rewriting off. Keep Original publishes the clipped text as-is — useful when the source is your own writing or a transcript that should stay verbatim.

Can one collection become more than one post?

Yes. Batch runs turn a collection of many sources into many posts in a single run, each one going through plan, asset generation, writing and publish as staged steps, with affiliate CTAs and offers woven in as it writes.

Do I need an account?

Yes. The extension installs free from the Chrome Web Store and every setting stays accessible, but clipping into collections and publishing need a HiFi-WP account and an API key from your profile connections page.

Does it track my browsing?

No. Page content is read only when you explicitly clip or capture. No background scraping, no crawling, no browsing-history collection. Site access is an optional permission requested on your first capture, never at install, and your API key is stored locally in Chrome.
